About Us
Inspiring Kids Academy (IKA), a non profit federal tax exempt 501 (c ) 3 organization that was founded and established in May of 2005 by Coach Anthony Wainwright. Coach Wainwright’s vision for IKA was inspired by how he grew up as a child in an inner city area of Southeast Atlanta, Georgia. He knew early in his life that he wanted to make a difference in the lives of many by creating and becoming a viable resource for children to rise above the poverty line through education and athletics. Coach Wainwright competed at a high level of high school and collegiate baseball before a career ending injury after his sophomore year in college. After college he worked for several major corporations including management and banking and finance. The fire continued to burn in him to assist in positively impacting the lives of many; therefore: Inspiring Kids Academy continues to thrive with a spirit of giving. With his philanthropic spirit and a commitment to helping youth, Coach Wainwright along with several staff members began to breathe life into Inspiring Kids Academy and started a summer baseball camp for boy’s ages 5-13 in Brownsmill Park located in Lithonia, Georgia in 2005. After five years of providing summer camps outdoors to more than 200 boys ages 5-13 annually, IKA expanded to an 82,000 square foot indoor facility and serving thousands annually through a variety of programs and services by way of education and athletics:
